On Monday March 30th it was African Day in Year 2.
The children wore bright colours that reminded them of the colours used in Kente cloth.
During the day they took part in Art and Cooking activities on an African theme. We made African masks, paintings of African animals, Masai necklaces and cooked Nigerian Benne wafers.
During the afternoon the children were able to try tasting plantain and yams and then devoured their homemade biscuits.
All of this was to pull together our learning from this term’s Geography topic.
We have been using the brand new I pads at school to research African animals for our topic.
