Y3 History
The Romans come to St Marys!
Fantastic! Marvellous! Wonderful!
These are words the children used to describe our great Roman Day in school. We investigated artefacts brought by Partake, the company who ran the day for us. We tasted Roman food and drink, used shields to create the turtle formation for attacking the enemy, dressed children up as a roman soldier and lady and played games the Romans used to play. We tried to build a viaduct, make arches in bridges and create mosaic pictures with tiles. |
A WONDERFUL EXCITING DAY!

The Stone Age
Lincoln Museum Visit
Our class went to The Collections Museum in Lincoln as part of our Stone to Bronze Age work.
What a fantastic time we had! The drama activity was most popular but we also looked around the museum, made a Celtic mirror, a Bronze Age shield and a Stone Age round house. Another fantastic activity was the BIG DIG! We learnt how archaeologists dig out old artefacts found in the ground and had a go ourselves. A wonderful day was had by all. |
