Year 5 History
World War 1
Propaganda Posters
As part of our work on the First World War we studied propaganda posters and looked at how these were used to encourage people to join the war effort. We looked at different examples of posters and evaluated their effectiveness to help us design our own posters, based on a theme of our choice from the war. We then used mixed media to create our posters which are displayed on our classroom windows if you'd like to come and have a closer look!
Imperial War Museum
Year 5 and 6 visited the Imperial War Museum in Manchester this week to enrich our History work on the First World War. We were able to learn many new things from all the information. We also had the chance to explore a range of artefacts to help us learn more about this important period in British history. |

The Partake group were back at St. Mary's to help Year 5 re-eanact the legend of Jason and the Golden Fleece.

We had a fantastic time using all their costumes and props and used our role play of this great story to write our own versions once it was over.
