Year 5 Literacy
Library Visit
To kick off book week, Year 5 visited the library where a librarian explained to us the useful services and resources available at Hyson Green and other local libraries. We also selected exciting books to borrow from their wide collection.

Year Five spent time preparing contrasting points of view on different topics before taking part in class debates. We used contrasting conjunctions to give an opposing view and had to present reasons for our views. There really are some politicians for the future in here!
We used the points from our debates to create balanced arguments, firstly about the actions of Phillipe Petit in 1974 then later about the best method of government after learnign about the different types of government that ruled in Ancient Greece.
Here's some of our Phillipe Petit work on display.
