Congratulations to all our First Communicants!
Our Retreat Day - January 5th 2015
|
Our day was an interesting day with our chaplain, Gabbie, linked to our new topic Journeys. We began the day with morning prayers followed by the Footprints Story. This helped us to think about how God is with us on whatever journey we are on. We talked about a journey through our own year and wrote about what we are looking forward to in 2015, on a footprint. After that we talked about the liturgical year and made a calendar of the times through the Church year. We listened to the story of the Three Kings journey. |
In the afternoon, we worked in groups to create a liturgy, involving drama, art work, Readings, writing bidding prayers and creating a challenge for our Mission. After the liturgy we all sang Following the Christmas Star with actions.
Our Class Assembly
Our class assembly was linked to bullying as part of the national anti-bullying week. It was enjoyed by the whole school and parents who attended.
The children had a great time acting out a short play about Tyrone the Terrible, a dinosaur who bullied a smaller dinosaur called Boland. They performed poems, songs and a dance to Love Shine a Light and were very proud of all their hard work. Well done year 3. Enjoy the photos. |

Class liturgy - Promises
At the end of our topic about Promises we enacted a baptism and had our class liturgy.
Class Liturgy
We have had our first class liturgy linked to the topic about Family and homes. Enjoy the photos that show a mixture of artwork, drama, writing bidding prayers and the children leading the liturgy and prayers at the end of the lesson. |
