Easter Experience
This week we were invited to St Stephens to take part in the Easter experience, where some of the parish and chaplains brought the Easter story alive. There were five different stations each telling a different part of the Easter story: Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, The Last Supper, Crucifixion, Resurrection
Lent reflection day
We had a reflection day with our chaplains Gabbie and Francis. We looked at how we show self discipline in our lives, especially during lent.
We played the chocolate game, which is like life, with rules to keep to. It is challenging and some of us found it easy and some harder. But, if you have self discipline and work at it, you will receive your reward in heaven. Throughout the day, we created dramas to show the challenges we face in life and how we overcame them , and we ended the day with a class liturgy, which we all took part in. |

Year 4 Family Assembly
To celebrate the end of our R.E topic about families, we had a sharing assembly for the whole school and our parents.
As well as looking at our own families and what they mean to us, we also looked at Jesus’ human family. We acted out the stories of: Abraham, Joseph and Ruth We shared a beautiful poem about families At the end we sang a song about us all being part of Abraham’s family |
Family
A family is like a circle the connection never ends and even if at times it breaks in time it always mends A family is like the stars somehow they're always there families are those who help who support and always care A family is like a book the endings never clear but through the pages of the book their love is always near A family is many things with endless words that show who they are, and what they do and how they teach you, so you know But don't be weary if it's broken or if through time its been worn families are like that- they can split up and be torn But even if this happens your family will always be the people who define who you are and be a part of you eternally |
Retreat dayTo end our R.E topic on families, we had retreat day with the school Chaplin Francis. We thought about us all being part of God’s family and how we are all different. We painted a portrait of someone we don’t usually speak to, and painted on them something that makes them different.
We ended the day with class liturgy, where we used the story of Abraham as our scripture. |
